KOBIDO
the natural face-lift.
Kobido massage is a Japanese technique combining massage and aesthetic care. It is a stimulating massage of the face and neck, known for its rejuvenating effect. Kobido massage allows the therapist to act at the same time on the nervous system, thanks to the relaxation provided, on the energetic system, by the way of acupressure techniques performed on the skull and the periphery of the eyes, the blood and muscular system during the toning of the neck and face, and the lymphatic system, by the use of a drainage technique with a bamboo stick.
This technique promotes the energy circulation of the face, neck and the entire body, while releasing muscle tension: thus reducing the appearance of wrinkles. During a session, the back, shoulders, neck, arms and hands are massaged.
Benefits:
Kobido massage brings great relaxation of the nervous system, thus effective in reducing the effects of stress on the body, headaches, insomnia and fatigue. The upper back and neck massage also alleviates muscle tension, opens the airways and soothes the shoulders. In turn, the acupressure techniques applied on the skull and eye contour alleviate eye pain and can reduce the pain associated with a tight jaw, for example due to bruxism.
By improving blood circulation in the facial area, Kobido massage favors suppleness and toning of facial muscles, thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This tissue irrigation also helps restore complexion’s radiance.
Proceedings:
A Kobido massage usually lasts 90 minutes and includes several distinct steps. The therapist first relaxes the back, arms and hands, then the skull and the face with slow and soothing motions. At this stage, hot towels and a bamboo stick can be used.
This technique goes on with very fast pinching motions of the face along with palpating-rolling movements. The therapist then uses elements of shiatsu to act on the meridians of the face and the energetic system of the body, and ends the session by rolling quartz stones along those.
How many treatments do i need?
As with most procedures, the number of treatments needed is determined individually - it is worth bearing in mind that our goal is to achieve the best results, therefore it is possible to combine several different treatment procedures to meet the expectations of each client. In the case of KOBIDO, it is worth carrying out 5 treatments for the best results.
Contraindications
This type of massage is not recommended for pregnant women, people suffering from cancer or heart problems. In case of fever, rash, recent scar or severe acne, the care will be performed more gently, or may be contraindicated, depending on the severity of the condition.
